What has gone in behind the scenes?
Something major has happened with this squad and it stinks.

Noble alluded to it in his post match interview. He alluded to players leaking info and the team not being together and looked lost as to how he would fix it.

Moyes then backed it up in his interviews stating he needs to find a way to bring the team together.

Who are the troublemakers, the ring leaders and what is their beef?

I think it's all to do with a gay love triangle involving ogbonna, mark noble and the poster formerly known as Kia

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
Pervy and Alf - agree as well.

the transfer business is terrible bargain bucket, hunting big game. decide how to play and get round pegs for round holes. Have a good look at decent championship players that can step up.

Send the board to the shops for fish and chips for your dinner you'll get a lump of beef, a chilli and a pot of sauerkraut because they were reduced.

ffs - its not rocket science

It will not be Moyes decision if he wants rid of somebody in January, Sullivan/Gold will decide if anyone goes.

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
This is where Moyes, Pearce and Irvine have got to get with Noble, Reid, Collins, Carroll, Zab, Hart and Pea, they need to all come together hard!

Maybe that happened and the others walked in on it. That would be enough to upset any team dynamics.

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
I think it comes down to managing our expectations as well. We spend so long in every window chasing players that never really seem realistic. At best, we'll be the 2nd/3rd option and only then it'll be on a good wage being offered.

Payet broke the mould, we got a superstar for little money and he seemed happy to be here at first. We're not going to be challenging for Europe like we were in the seasons he was there. So our expectation in terms of transfers should match our ambition in our current state, which should be just to stay up.

Moyes will get stick by some for not looking at big names but I don't think that's what we need.

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
Agree Pervy.

No strategy or philosophy to buy young, up coming potential or a longer term plan to build a squad. Transfers in based on past reputation or Bling value ( played for big club etc so makes us big club).

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
In our very familiar desperate attempts to sign a 'big name' and ending up with a has been on stupid wages, we've accrued a squad that is governed by a largely useless bunch of arrogant, self absorbed, lazy twats that don't deserve to be in the first team....but get picked anyway because we pay them so much.

Look at Burnley, they have very few 'stars', if any depending on who you're comparing them to. But they're living proof that a bunch of well drilled, organised and ambitious group of players can achieve over and above what is expected.

We don't have players like that. It's been a lick it and stick it last ditch attempt at the end of every transfer window to haul in someone that might satisfy the fans instead of just signing nobody.

I don't wish relegation on us at all but I also think that we need a complete overhaul and don't see that changing until we're faced with a fresh challenge. A moment which makes us do some real hard graft in the scouting department and brings in players that aren't has been superstars just because it's a good name on the team sheet and instead, players who have that bit of quality but also aren't afraid of and are capable of hard graft. Just like Burnley,

It does make you wonder if Sullivan is playing football manager with us and certain players have to start, that would no doubt piss off the fringe players and start trouble. Antonio liking the Star's view Moyes first game was a disaster on Facebook does tell us that there is some serious relationship problems within the squad.

I'd agree with the dump-if-underperforming strategy, but I suspect Sullivan's got an "I paid fucking big wedge for him, so he starts, whatever" policy that trumps whatever the manager feels/knows should be done.

totally agree, either put the effort in, do it how Moyes wants them to do it or get rid of them asap no matter how full of self importance they think they are.

Agree that ultimately the owners are the root of everything that is wrong but in the immediate term Moyes will need to make some changes to the first 11 or expect pelters on Friday.

For starters IMO Carroll needs to be dropped.

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
Moyes inherited AF's players at United who didn't respond to him there and now he has inherited Bilic's players.

Moyes has been there before and should see the signs early, those who don't want to put in a shift and play for him can go in Jan, no exceptions!

We need players who are up for a fight with Moyes and co!

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
I would say the following might play a role in the state of affairs:

Joe Hart being guaranteed to start each game and Adrian having to sit on the bench regardless of how poorly Joe performs. Adrian, Lanzini, Obiang all good friends so probably talk about it amongst themselves.

Andy Carroll constantly being played as our main striker despite being fucking lazy and very rarely producing the goods, when he's even fit. I don't necessarily condone Sakho's behaviour but no wonder he's not happy - fair enough he's had his own injury problems but a team with Andy Carroll does not defend from the front, whereas at least Sakho puts pressure on the opposition when they have possession.

That's just my thoughts. I could be wrong of course and I'm sure there is more to it than this even if it is true.

Antonio liking the Star Newspapers Facebook headline " Moyes first game a disaster" is not really showing us that behind the scenes they are all getting along!

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
This all began with the 2 tosspots + Brady paying out massive rises to the players whilst offering nothing to Bilic. Completely undermined him and set up the current toxicity via Payet.
This will need a clearout and restart and giving a manager the authority and tenure to get on with it. Their only contribution should be a budget each transfer window and the ability to get the targets but these 3 are interfering busy bodies that fuss and pfaff around like tarts.

Cresswell strikes me a little shit stirring weasel, more interested in his hair than much else. Your typical modern day player, over-rated and over paid.

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
I wouldn't be surprised if this had started with a pro Payet clique and an against Payet group. On top of that I'm sure certain players wages are probably pissing certain players off. After all if you see Carroll and our two record signings Ayew (who went to Swansea rather than us first) and Arnie on their biggest pay packet ever and not producing it must someone off!!!

Swiss. 10:34 Tue Nov 21
Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
Well it's obvious there are issues betrween the players. I lot of them will still be Bilic's mates and will feel let down by some of the others and righty so.

Hart is known to be a c*nt and Arnie.

I'd try and bring as many of Bilic's first squad togther and add Zabbellta who'w tried. Bring back Adrian for sure.

Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
football is now a business

successful businesses are led by the right people at the top and it then filters down to the staff

WEST HAM are owned by complete idiots that most people do not like or respect and there lies our problem

Russ of the BML 10:18 Tue Nov 21
Re: What has gone in behind the scenes?
If something had gone on behind the scenes with the players and Bilic knew about it then why didn't he just come out and say it? He may be embarrassed that he couldn't manage it but, then again, it came out that he rang the players and asked them where he went wrong. Nothing more embarrassing than that.
